Copyright & Usage

General use

Unless a photo was taken as commissioned work for you (e.g. as a band, label, venue, or festival), you do not have permission to use, post, repost, or otherwise publish these images anywhere, including on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, websites, or any other platform. This applies to full images as well as crops, screenshots, or edited versions.

If you'd like to use a photo and it wasn't taken specifically for you, please get in touch first. In most cases, I'm happy to work something out - I just need to know where and how it'll be used.

If a photo was taken as commissioned work for you

If I shot the photo specifically for you (as part of paid or agreed commissioned work), you're welcome to use it for your own promo, social media, and press purposes, within the scope originally agreed on. Please: Credit me on every post (tag @thestein.photography or mention "Theresa Maria Steiner / TheStein.Photography")

Don't crop out, remove, or cover any watermark

Don't edit, filter, or alter the image beyond basic resizing or cropping for platform requirements

Don't sell, license, or pass the image on to a third party without checking with me first

Commercial use

Commercial use (merch, advertising, paid promotion, resale, etc.) is not covered by standard credit-only permission, whether the photo was commissioned or not. If you want to use a photo commercially, reach out and we'll sort out licensing and pricing directly.

Press & publications

If you're a magazine, blog, or other publication and want to use a photo for editorial purposes, please contact me for permission and correct crediting before publishing.
